(288) Map Design

So this project was a piece of work and I will add it as there were several hours involved to produce the final product.

After many hours of layering and adjustments, here is the map and directions card for our invitations!

The final cards will be printed on a green velum. Tomorrow I send them to print and then tomorrow evening I will assemble the final product before going to Bridal Veil to send them out.

(294-290) Bunny Mobile

Here is the second bunny mobile constructed for Ann:

Long eyelashes and a traditional pearl necklace for the pink striped one:

I can't wait for her to get it and I hope she enjoys it!

(289) Beach Serenity

Tonight I have a class wet-on-wet oil painting style (Bob Ross). The topic of the class is Beach Serenity. I am not a huge fan of beach scenes (as I am not yet very good). It is the last class I am registered for this summer.

There is another class I might take in September painting the "Waterfall in the Woods," but I am going to wait until the last minute to register as I want to see how stressed I am with the wedding. Time seems to be soaring and before I know it the wedding day will be here. Two months and I will be getting married.

In the meantime I should stop blogging and go find my camera equipment. Tomorrow I head to the coast for my annual celebration of randomness. We started the new event to celebrate my job last year, and I decided to continue the tradition this year so Chris, Cara, and I are headed coast-ward.

Chris helped me find sticks to construct the mobile. Here is the final product, I will post .pictures for the second mobile shortly once it is fully constructed.

Clay and Long Adventures

It is amazing how at certain times in your life you connect with people that you know will have a lasting affect. I ran across one such soul most recently at my job. Her cynical humor, light hearted humor, and creative spark brought me back to life when I was beginning to get lost in the weeds at work. I will miss my friend who's life is guiding her out East.

I was just admiring her site the other day and thinking of her, then out of the blue she sent her travel blog. She must have heard my thoughts. So for those interested in reading about her travel adventures as she makes her way from Oregon to South Carolina: http://jayzor.com/blog/

Invitation Design

So I did not intended to cross pollinate from my other blog, but today as I was finishing the design for my wedding invitations I came across http://friendlyplastic.blogspot.com/.

Neat concept of molding plastic that can be used for craft projects. I will have to revisit this once I return back to crafting.

Wedding planning is getting closer to complete so in no time I should be back blogging regularly! In the meantime check out my wedding invitation design here: http://www.nollkamper.com/2010/07/invitation-construction.html

I am quiet pleased with how it is turning out.

(298) Bunny Prototype #1

Okay it is way past my bedtime, but for some reason I am wide awake. I should be sleeping as I have quiet a bit of housework to do in the AM before friends arrive to help celebrate the 4th, but I thought this was a perfect time to write to the hum of the dryer.

Today we woke and giggled in bed until we forced one another to awaken. We decided breakfast was called for and headed down to Shari's, not my favorite establishment, but convenient as it is so close to our home (and we do not yet have the kitchen in a functioning state).

After breakfast we were both super sleepy so we came home and snuggled up to watch the Paraguay v. Spain football match. Our procrastination worked well as we did not actually get to cleaning the house until around 2PM. Then it was like mad pandemonium as we dashed through our clothes. We did some serious deep cleansing. Goodwill will most certainly be our friend this month. It has been over a year since we have had the opportunity and with being under constant construction it has added even more distractions to life.

The time procrastinating did give me a little room to put together the first bunny prototype. I think it turned out rather cute. Now I have to finish the other three bodies this week and hit the embroidery soon to follow. I have to bust this mobile out before the baby shower at the end of the month!

So this month I have bunnies for a mobile, drawing for a map (for the wedding invitations), jewelry design (for my wedding), and a Bob Ross class to boot! I think the universe is sending some creative opportunities my way as I have been struggling to find time for my creative projects with the many things that I have been juggling lately.

In other news - we are about three weeks from having the kitchen done at last. The floors go in on Wednesday and we are installing the bottom cabinet immediately after. We picked out the counters and the only really big decision that remains is the range and microwave unit. Hopefully we will go out on Monday and find something, then we should be set!

And now I really am off to bed!

(299) Bunnies!

This weekend I am going to start the bunnies!

I researched ideas quiet a bit, but and found there are so many different ideas. My favorite came from a super cute idea on ElsieMarley.com

I am hoping to make the bunny bodies this weekend, but my plan is to add a little flair with some embroidery. I have not quiet decided what to do for the eyes, but know there will definitely be some eyelashes involved.

I am excited to see how this project turns out!
